This Caribbean Country Is Starting A Program To Help Small Marijuana Farmers


News Americas, NEW YORK, NY, Fri. Jan. 11, 2019: At least one Caribbean leader plans to start a program to ensure small farmers on the island benefit from the growing marijuana industry.

Jamaica’s Prime Minister, Andrew Holness, says that his government will start the Alternative Development Programme (ADP) to provide an avenue for small farmers to benefit from the marijuana industry. The program is intended to prevent and eliminate the illicit cultivation of marijuana and channel the process through legal system.

The pilot will involve the farming of marijuana to provide raw material for processors. Continue Reading
